Honest answers to the questions men ask before starting.
If your question isn't here, the contact page works. We'd rather answer a hard question than dodge it.
How much does ANVIL cost?
$99 one-time intake fee, then $199/month subscription. One number, all-in. The intake fee covers your initial lab panel and physician consultation. The monthly subscription covers your medication, ongoing physician oversight, follow-up labs, side-effect adjuncts (estradiol management, etc.) when your protocol calls for them, and shipping — nothing billed separately. Cancel anytime. No contracts.
Is this real medicine or a supplement?
Real medicine. Testosterone cypionate is an FDA-regulated, Schedule III pharmaceutical. It is prescribed by a physician licensed in your state after they review your lab work and medical history. Compounded by a licensed 503A pharmacy. The opposite of a supplement.
Will I qualify?
Most men over 35 with a free testosterone reading below the optimal range and at least two clinical symptoms qualify. Your physician makes the call after reviewing your labs and history. We don't decide who qualifies — your doctor does.
What if I have a bad reaction?
Your physician monitors estradiol, hematocrit, lipid panel, and other markers. Most side effects are managed in-protocol — usually with dose adjustments or adjunct medications, no extra visit, no upcharge. If TRT isn't right for you, you stop, and we don't bill you again.
How long until I feel different?
Most men report meaningful changes in energy and mood by week 4–6. Libido tends to shift in the first month. Body composition changes are visible by month 3 if your training and nutrition are dialed in. Your individual timeline depends on your starting labs, your protocol, and your lifestyle.
Will TRT affect my fertility?
It can. Exogenous testosterone suppresses the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, which reduces sperm production. If you're planning to have biological children in the next 1–2 years, talk to your physician — there are protocols (HCG, enclomiphene) that preserve fertility, or you may want to bank sperm before starting. We'd rather have this conversation upfront than after.
Can I cycle on and off, or take a "TRT holiday"?
Possible, but worth talking through with your physician. Once you've been on TRT, your natural production may take months to recover or may not fully recover at all. Some men plan TRT as a long-term protocol; others use it for defined periods. Your physician will discuss the trade-offs based on your goals.
How do I take it?
Most members self-administer testosterone cypionate via subcutaneous injection once or twice weekly using a small insulin-style needle. It is much less intimidating than it sounds; we walk you through it step by step. Some protocols use intramuscular injection; your physician will recommend what fits you.
What about side effects I don't want?
The most common are acne, water retention, and changes in mood — usually manageable through dose calibration and estradiol management. Less common but more serious: elevated hematocrit (we monitor every panel), gynecomastia (managed with adjuncts), and changes in lipid profile. Your physician's job is to catch these early; ours is to stay out of their way.
Why is ANVIL cheaper than Hone or the clinic down the street?
Two reasons. First, we don't have a clinic, a receptionist, or a lease — the medical work is done by partners we share the cost of with thousands of other patients across multiple brands, and we pass that on. Second, we don't unbundle. Most competitors quote a low headline price and then charge separately for AI/estradiol management, accessory shipments, or 'concierge' tiers. ANVIL's $199 includes the medicine and the management of the medicine. The medicine is the same. The bill is honest.
How is ANVIL different from Hone, Blokes, or Marek?
Hone is a generalist with broad protocols and a lighter clinical touch. Marek is a premium, peptide-heavy operator with higher-priced bundles. Blokes competes on aggressive pricing. ANVIL sits between them — clinical rigor at every step, focused specifically on TRT, no upsell labyrinth, and built for men who want serious medicine without the spa-medicine markup.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes, in most cases. Both the intake fee and monthly subscription are typically eligible HSA/FSA expenses. We provide itemized receipts.
What states do you serve?
All 50 states. Our physician network is licensed in every state we ship to.
What if I want to talk to a real person?
You can. Member support is staffed by humans during business hours; clinical questions go directly to your care team. We use AI to handle straightforward billing and shipping inquiries faster, and we always disclose when you're talking to AI versus a human.
How do I cancel?
One click in your account, or one email to support@anvilformen.com. No retention call, no friction. If you cancel within 30 days of your first shipment, your intake fee is refundable.
